The Global Information Technology Report 2016 (GITR) declares Pakistan as a country of Asia which is the paradise for ICT and Telecom products and services in the world. Pakistan is ranked as the most affordable country in this sector, The report published by World Economic Forum (WEF) revealed that Pakistan’s Telecom market has the lowest prices in the world when we compared it to the other markets worldwide for the similar products.
These reports are generated on the basis of some key factors and indicators. The usage of ICT services is highest in Pakistan and the prices are also not so high. WEFanalysis also reveals in term of financial conditions of Pakistan, ICT usage is going excellent at the moment considering the social conditions.
In the report, the basis of figures were the three different levels. Of rating. They are Indexes, Subindexes, and Pillars. The countries were ranked on the base of pillars which then create the subindexes. The subindexes can combine and form an index. “Networked Readiness Index“ is a good example of this criteria.

Pakistan has improved from the last year which was at an 112th position at Over All Network Readiness Index. This shows that the country has definitely done a good job in improving its position by 2 ranks in Network Readiness Index. Other pillars still need improvement in Pakistan.The low ranked pillars were “Skills”and “Infrastructure“ which are very important.
