We have recently observed and seen so much disturbance in the lives of internet users because of slow internet, many comics have been made, and PTCL has been accused for it a lot. According to ISP sources it has been revealed that the cause of slow internet is again submarine cable outage.
IMEWE is Major Submarine Cable for Pakistan which provide internet bandwidth to almost two third of the whole country.
According to the latest report of IMEWE submarine cable, the cable through which Pakistan was connected to the world has been down and bandwidth for Pakistan’s ISP is not available on it. Further they forecasted that it might remain down for few more days from today.
Specifically a bad news for PTCL users as PTCL is one of the major user of IMEWE that is why PTCL users are facing much trouble in browsing and downloading etc. According to the sources we got to know that PTCL has decided to get some extra bandwidth through other submarine cables to cater the need of internet for its mighty users.
Details of Pakistan’s current international Links and bandwidth capacity consist of:
- TW1 with design capacity of 1.28Tbps
- Sea-Me-We-3 with 480 Gbps with two fibre pairs
- Sea-Me-We-4 with design capacity of 1.28Tbps
- I-ME-WE with Design Capacity of 3.86Tbps
