For the information, National Assembly standing committee which is on information technology and telecommunication has now been finally passing and declaring the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Bill 2015. They have amended this Prevention of Electronic Crimes Bill 2015. Capt (r) Safdar informed who has been the Chairman of Committee has make this announcement and he has also well informed all of the members that so far 205 objections have been raised by the people while creating this bill and now these 205 objections have been addressed by us in a positive way.
How much penalty will be imposed for the selling of illegitimate mobile SIMs?
It has been according to the approved cyber crime bill that whoever persons will be involved and found in selling or if they will be found in making a deal of any of the illegitimate mobile SIMs then they will for sure be facing a penalty of two years severe imprisonment. It is to be noted that if children who will be under the age of 13 years will be find in dealing with the illegitimate mobile SIMs then they will be exempted from punishments, the previously proposed age for this punishment was 10. It has also been insisted by the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) MNA named as Shazia Marri that the upper age limit should be set at 14 years, committee Chairman just make a refusal that age should be 13 years. It is also seen that committee will also be reducing the penalty for cyber stalking just from two years to one year. This subjected Cyber Crime bill will be tabled down in Parliament, right after final approval, you will be able to see its implementation.
