Alas the gruesome procedure for the passports registration and issuance services has been supplemented with the technology as per revealed by the Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar when inquired by another parliamentarian few days back. It has been informed to The National Assembly of Pakistan that from April 2016, an online registration and issuance service for machine readable passports will commence.
As informed by the Minister, the application of this new online system will be incepted within the country, but later on, will be amplified beyond the premises of country as well. Moreover, 83 Pakistani missions abroad are authorized to issue machine readable passports (MRPs). The above mentioned missions will be able to propose the new online service by the middle of next year.
Chaudhary Nisar also unveiled that, rules for official Blue Passports had been reposed by the discretionary authority of the Interior Minister’s office in the past. And about 2,000 passports have been cancelled by the present government under the controversial dispense of public interest.
According to the information provided by the interior minister, online application and issuance of National Identity Cards (NIC) has already started, but few months are undoubtedly required to reinforce the service procedure. Unyielding operation has been started against many NADRA officials as they generated thousands of fake identity cards, which are now abrogated.
Minster Chaudhary Nisar indicated that in order to resolve the issue of blocking identity cards under the surveillance of various circumstances, a committee of members representing different parliamentary parties will be formed to collaborate with NADRA.
After an effort of year on enhancing the process of getting official documents by interior Ministry, It is announced that online issuance of CNIC will be launched soon. NADRA has inaugurated this service in August. Home deliveries of Passport were delayed but are now available since last month. And TCS Passport Express Service is made official service for citizens of major cities in Pakistan.
