It has been formally chartered at the time of 1974 by the Federal Technology Transfer Act of 1986 to promote transfer of technology. It has now over 300 federal laboratories; it is an honor for all of us that Pakistani Scientists have won an award from this important institute.

These Pakistani Scientists have been awarded because of their achievements related to development and commercializing of a nanotechnology. Their so called nanotechnology actually consists of a polymer kind of based encapsulation matrix, it allows delivery of soil microbes to crops and then it leads to higher yields. This award has been shared by two Pakistani Scientists named as Dr. Farooq-e-Azam, he has been the formerly the Director of Nuclear Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA), Peshawar, Pakistan. He has also been the currently Director Research at AMKA Products (Pvt) Ltd., Pretoria, South Africa, this same award has also been received Dr. Syed Hussain Imam, he has been a formerly a Senior Scientist from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Berkeley, CA, he is also the Vice President of Research and Development at Flozyme Corporation, Inc. based in Dallas, Texas.
