The Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT) and a Chinese company, Cheezmall Private Limited joined hands on Saturday, in a ceremony to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Cheezmall, basically Shanghai-based, is an online shopping website. Its office is established in Islamabad, Pakistan. The company wants to expand its e-commerce business in Pakistan by working in collaboration with PBIT.
PBIT CEO Ms. Amena Cheema and the Cheezmall CEO Aurangzeb Khan signed the MOU. Other company members of the Cheezmall were also a part of the delegation. Ms. Amena Cheema highlighted the increasing trend of e-commerce in Pakistan and the different opportunities present in this field. She further emphasized that nowadays, almost every Pakistani has easy access to the internet, and this is a golden chance for the foreign companies to invest in Pakistan’s e-commerce sector.
Mr. Aurangzeb also addressed the ceremony and emphasized the Government of Punjab and PBIT to create a business friendly environment in Pakistan. He also praised the government for their improved governance and security measurements, due to which Pakistan can attract foreign investors, especially China.
