UNIDO as part of its ongoing GEF funded Project titled “Sustainable Energy Initiative for Industries in Pakistan” has organizing and conducting country wide training sessions for capacity building of professionals in the field of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy.Thereby encouraging professionals from various stakeholders including industries , energy service companies (ESCOs), suppliers, academia and banking sector to attend these training sessions. The trainings are offered free of charge and are fully funded by GEF and UNIDO.
Most recently, UNIDO and Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (RCCI) jointly invited Zorays Solar Pakistan to participate in a two days training session on Project Financing for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Technology-based projects in Industry. This training as conducted by an international trainer drew upon extensive international lessons learned in terms of developing and appraising a pipeline of bankable EE and RE projects. UNIDO’s training session on Financing of Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency Projects was held on 26th & 27th of March, 2018 at Rawalpindi.
Zorays Solar Pakistan was requested to kindly nominate one person, from the relevant department, to attend the course. As UNIDO encourages female participants as per UNIDO’s gender mainstreaming policy, we nominated Ms. Walya Sadiq, Head of Project Financing, Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Technology-based projects. The 2 day training session on “Project Financing for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Technology-based projects in Industry” comprised of some practical sessions on the second day of training in which Ms. Walya was given some mock projects along with case studies which she needed to perform on software RET Screen (RET Screen is a Clean Energy Management Software system for energy efficiency, renewable energy and cogeneration project feasibility analysis as well as for ongoing energy performance analysis Projects).
