It has been in the news these days that the telecom sector of Pakistan has so far been paying the highest and by far the massive amount of revenue to the government and it is also since years that this telecom sector has been continuing this practise.

It is too according to a recent statement by Federal Board o0f Revenue (FBR) that all those telecom companies that have been operating in the country, so far they have paid amount of Rs. 4.6 billion as income tax during last five years. We have also seen this trend right and the minute after launching Next Generation Mobile Services (NGMS), Pakistani government right away imposed heavy taxes on the entire mobile internet and also on the whole of broadband services.

How much tax has been collected?
We have viewed that by far the combined percentage of tax is whopping 53%, 19.5% on Call and Voice services and also 14% on withholding tax and also 19.5% taxes on mobile and also at the ixed line internet connections.
It is too because of these excess of taxes that we have been witnessing the lowered consumption of these devices. If this situation will be continued and the major middle and class portion of Pakistan will not be able to use telecom gadgets and this will affect the Pakistan economy.
