TIE is a global and a worldwide major international non-profit organization for the development of entrepreneurship with 61 chapters in 18 different countries and 13, 000 members around the globe. TiE hosted a workshop on Fintech-The Future of FinTech in Pakistan at Royal Palm on Thursday, October 28, 2016.
The goal of this workshop was to bring together academia, professionals, practitioners, business owners, internet marketers and new business founders at one place. The students working in various organizations were also present. The development of Fin-Tech environment was the focus of the workshop and the scope of implementation in the financial sector of Pakistan was discusses.
What are the emerging trends in FinTech industry and the regulatory issues?
To discuss the rends in FinTech industry, Doctor Miftah Ismail who is a well known Economist and Chairman of Panel of Investment was the first one to start the speech. He shared his immense knowledge with the audience there and focused his discussion on the way how federal government is playing its role in the FinTech. Dr. Miftah has been a previous employee of IMF before he came back to Pakistan. He has worked with some big names in this area i. e. BOI, SNGPL, PIA, Ismail Industries Ltd, Candyland Confectionery etc.
The CEO of Innov8 Mr Hasnain Sheikh was the second presenter. Mr Hasnain is also the co-founder of Innov8 Limited back in 2004. Its key concentration is an enhancement of technology using cloud-based services in the e-commerce industry. For the past decade, he has been very active in this profession and started SynygyInc now , which is a global innovator in enterprise performance management.
Mr Faisal Sherjan was the moderator for the big event. He has considerable experience and knowledge in Financing industry; he is a business owner and a business person for many years. The other participants were the Co-Founder and Mentor of Qatari Overseer Strategy & Planning, BookMe, Travel, Auto and X-Gear.
